Christmas Cards.....

Finally sitting down to get my Christmas Cards done.
I mean... started :)
I personalize my cards to the recipient
for the most part ...

The first is for a newly wed couple...

This one is for an avid gardner/bird watcher...

This one is for someone who adores 'simple'
with clean lines...

and this one is for a family with children...

Various papers, prima flowers, distress inks,
embellies, brads and an old strand of metal
snowflake garland that I cut apart and distressed
with Tim Holtz ,Picket Fence, crackle paint
NOW I am in the Christmas Spirit :)
Thanks for stopping by.

Friendship Card

A dear friend of mine celebrated Thanksgiving
in Florida (without me?) and I wanted to send
her off with a little card to let her know how much her
friendship means to me.

Although not an official Club Ruby submission,
the papers used on this card were leftovers from the
November Club Ruby kit.

I tried a simple card with just a few strips
of paper to showcase the image!
Close up of the image
I used Copic Markers on this
sweet little image
LOVE the hedgehog!

Ready To Create

I have been absent from my blog for two months...
and almost as long from my craft room.
(Well, except for my Design Team Projects for Club Ruby)
I have no idea how or when life got so busy, but it did,
and now I am reclaiming some ME time.

During my absence my baby sister got married ...
my eldest was busy with basketball...
my youngest was busy with friends and growing up....
my husband was busy landscaping, working on the new house
and coaching basketball
and I was busy being a taxi driver, a cheerleader,
a sleepover host, a wife, mother, friend and sister.
I am  not complaining about any of those things!

However, all those who know me know that one thing was
missing... and that was the crafting part of me.
It is, without a doubt, the one thing that keeps me grounded when
life gets a little overwhelming!
So... I am looking forwward to being in my craft room!!!

Go Wild

So.. Saturday, May 22 I posted a sentimental card
on my blog for my daughter Alec who will turn 13
this Sunday. The BAD part of being ahead with
birthday cards is you run the risk of having to make TWO!
Alec and I were at Hobby Lobby and she found this paper
that she just HAS to have and begs me to make a
card for her out of this fuzzy, zebra, wild paper.

Here is the card closed...

Here is the card open...

The fuzzy wild paper is from Paper Studio
Punches: Stampin' Up Scallop & Dot edge punch
#13  Thickers fabric pack (Distressed with Eggplant Ink)
Tim Holtz mini background stamp
I used zebra ribbon to secure the gift card
I love tri-shutter cards as they have
a perfect place for a gift card.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Anya Ink Challenge - 3 flowers/2 buttons/1 bow

School is just around the corner and
every year, on the first day of school,
I tuck a card into both Alec and
Sky's backpacks.
My youngest, Skylar, is going into 4th grade
and she just watched Alice In Wonderland, again.
So... I decided to make a 'homework' sheet
for Alice and dated 8.24.10.

Close up of Alice
All colouring was done with
Copic Markers

Close up of the homework
I used a Tim Holtz' Embossing Folder and
distressed it with Brocade Blue Stampin' Up Ink
There is a little note tucked under the homework
for Skylar... wishing her the best year ever :)
The paper is all scraps from various stores
Alice is stamped on 90# watercolor paper
The middle flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts
the other two are Prima flowers.
The buttons are from Stampin' Up.

Thanks for stopping by - check out Anya Ink
The DT has some gorgeous inspiration!

Ever just sit and color?

I think putting marker tip to paper
is soooo relaxing!
So, tonight, I played with one of my
new stamp sets
"Greeting Card Kids"
from Stampin' Up.
All I can say is - I didn't even get to the
card making part :)

Here are the stamps in B&W
There are four stamps in this set.

I am not a demonstrator for Stampin' Up
(I do have tons of their stamps)
But this is the first set I have used my
Copics on and like the way they turned out.
Thanks for stopping by!

Anya Ink Challenge B&W and one color

So I am super behind in getting this card done
and rushed it a bit...
I know WHY they call it a CHALLENGE ...
Black and White and One Color - Oy Vey!
I tried my hand at charcoal pencils and think maybe
I'll stick with Copics (Which means I need more)
Picture quality is NOT the best
I NEED A NEW CAMERA!
Anyway... here is my take
Black White and Pink

Just Love This Digi!
The paper is scrap from something
The ribbon is from Stampin' Up
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts

Shower Card for my Sister Carrie!

So...my baby sister is getting married!!
There are four of us girls and we're all so excited!
I chose this image becuase it looks like Carrie,
and I forever remember her like this!

The inside of the card reads...
"We read you fairy tales
when you were young,
knowing one day
your prince would come!
Wishing you a
Happily Ever After"

Close up of the image from
Sugar Nellie

I chose the
Cherish and Today Sentiments
for the front of the card
The pull tag says...
"For today is your
Someday"

There is a hodgepodge of product on this card.
Tim Holtz Crackle Paint, Stickles & Embellies

Ian Kurt's Birthday Card and... Anya Ink Challenge

My sweet nephew is now a
Genuine Teenager!
How the heck did THAT happen?

The Anya Ink Challenge is about BLING
(Head On Over There and Check It Out!)

It's hard to create a card for a young man
with bling... but...
the paper is glittery (pic doesn't show very well)
the lapel on the suit coat is covered
in vintage photo stickles and
I added some silver embellies as well.

Whatcha think?
